The Institute for Latin-American Studies is part of the National School of Political and Administrative Studies (NSPAS) and is subordinated both to the NSPAS Senate and to the Council of the Department of International Relations and European Integration.

The ISLA is self-financed from revenues resulting from its activities, funds granted for the projects in which the Institute coordinates or participates in, sponsorships, donations and resoures made available by its partners.

The Institute is headed by a Board of Directors, chaired by the ILAS Director. Further details on the organization and management of the Institute are available in its Rules of Organization and Operation.
